Bar Cal Centro is a village bar-and-shop in la Vilella Baixa, on Carrer Nou, at the entrance to the Montsant Natural Park. It is a four-generation family business built around artisan cured-meat production, currently run by Eric Sabaté, a master pork butcher who continues making the products following the method of his great-grandparents, grandparents and parents.
Besides the bar, where you can have a coffee or a snack, Cal Centro also operates as a shop for local products: cured meats (llonganissa sausage, fuet, sobrassada, secallona), pâtés in various flavours, plus local olive oil, almonds, hazelnuts and wine. Llonganissa sausage is its best-known specialty, sold fresh or filled (for example with roasted vegetables or wild mushrooms).
It opens Tuesday to Saturday 9:00-13:30 and 17:30-20:00, Sunday 9:00-14:30, and Monday only 9:00-13:30.
