About the Priorat

Practical information

The Priorat sits in the province of Tarragona, about 40 minutes’ drive from Tarragona and close to two hours from Barcelona. The regional capital is Falset; the nearest train station, on the Renfe Barcelona–Reus–Riba-roja d’Ebre line, is Marçà-Falset, about 2 km from Falset.

Spring and autumn are the best times: mild weather, budding vines or the harvest. September is harvest season and spring brings the Falset Wine Fair. Summers are hot and winter nights are cold up in the mountains.
