Hiking and cycling in the Montsant
The first day is for walking. From la Morera de Montsant, the graus route climbs the range through the old passes in the cliff line and reaches the Balcó del Priorat, which looks out over the heart of the county; with energy to spare, you can extend it to Roca Corbatera, the highest point of the Montsant and of the whole Priorat. After lunch in the village, sleep in la Morera itself, next to the Natural Park.
The second day is for pedalling. From Falset, a guided mountain-bike or e-bike ride mixes tracks, singletrack and village streets with a stop to taste local produce; if you would rather go on your own, you can rent a bike in Cornudella de Montsant. End the day by the Siurana reservoir.
One important warning: the graus route is 9 to 13 km, moderate to hard, with exposed sections and iron rungs, and it is not for anyone with vertigo. Roca Corbatera is exposed too, and neither is an officially waymarked Natural Park route. If you lack experience, go with a guide: El Brogit and Rogles Aventura run outings in the Montsant, by advance booking.
